about
Dreams of Seven is a series of studies for processed hammer dulcimer with occasional found sounds composed in Summer 2008. The works explore timbre (tone color), texture and resonance through extended techniques - ie: bowing, ebow, plectrum, - and through the use of several types of traditional hammers. Drawn from numerous recording sessions made while preparing material for live solo performances, the works bring together multiple independent tracks that that are collaged together with added processing and arranging.
